It's an all day affair! Designed to truly connect people with what they are eating, this Farm Dinner is an education in how an animal is raised, processed, broken down, cooked, and served. The day will start by boarding a bio-diesel bus at City Provisions with Half Acre Brewery. On the bus, we will learn about Half Acre, updates from City Provisions, and enjoy a beer paired with a couple one-bites. Upon arrival at the farm, we will meet with Sam the Butcher (no connection to the Brady Bunch) of Papineau Meat Locker who will show how our hogs are humanely prepared for chefs to break down. Kim Snyder will give a tour of Faith's Farm, accompanied by beers by Half Acre. After the tour, there will be a demonstration how the hogs are not only broken down, but fully utilized in a commercial kitchen. We will show you the different cuts of meat, how to make sausage, and what to do with the less popular cuts of meat.Coming along for the day will be special guests and dear friends, Rob Levitt of Mado Restaurant and Bernie Laskowski of Park Grill. A family style dinner will follow, paired with Half Acre beers, then we will unwind by a bonfire (perhaps bacon infused marshmallows?) Call or email to make a reservation.
