Mindful Metropolis Presents the Green Carpet Gala

Chicago’s “green” monthly celebrates its first anniversary in style.

CHICAGO, IL—(April 6, 2010)—Mindful Metropolis, the premiere monthly magazine dedicated to connecting Chicago’s conscious community, announces the ultimate Chicago Green Festival kickoff party, the Green Carpet Gala, and the debut of the Best of Mindful Chicago 2010 Readers’ Choice Awards.  This event, showcases the all-stars of the conscious community, will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010 at the Marmon Grand, 2230 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago. The festivities will commence on the Green Carpet at 5:30 p.m. and culminate in live music and dancing.

“As Mindful Metropolis celebrates its first milestone of many, it is important to note that we do not live in a world that is satisfied with the two dimensional approach to marketing concepts and sharing ideas,” says Richard McGinnis, publisher of Mindful Metropolis. “And we realize that our commitment to Chicago’s conscious community is both revolutionary and evolutionary.  So, our magazine goes beyond print to bring relevant, fun and entertaining events to life. The Green Carpet Gala is one of those events. It gives us a way to plug into the grid of our audience and engage new participants in exciting dialog.”

Attendees at the inaugural Green Carpet Gala will be treated to hors d’oeuvres from some of Chicago’s leaders in the local food movement (including Café Bloom, City Provisions, Fig Catering, Dawali Mediterranean Kitchen and Lula Café) live world music, interactive sponsor exhibits and more at the opulent Marmon Grand in Chicago’s Historic Motor Row District.

In addition to the lush festivities, Mindful Metropolis is honored to offer guests a stellar roster of speakers, focused on global, local and personal sustainability and beginning with keynote speaker Kevin Danaher, founder of Green Festival and co-founder of Global Exchange, followed by presentations from Bianca Alexander, Esq., correspondent and executive producer, and Marian Baker, author and master certified coach.

Mindful Metropolis will cap off the celebration of its first year as the voice of Chicago’s conscious community with the presentation of the Best of Mindful Chicago 2010 Readers’ Choice Awards Ceremony presented by the Master of Ceremonies, Hosea Sanders, co-anchor, ABC 7.  The awards will be followed by two hours of live music performed by the 10-member world music ensemble, Funkadesi.

To purchase tickets prior to the event, please visit www.MindfulMetropolis.com/GreenCarpet, tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door.  Limited additional sponsorship opportunities are available.
