Each month I would look forward to reading two things in C.C.—the letter from the publisher and Pinchbeck’s column. Will we see Mr. Pinchbeck’s writings in Mindful Metropolis? And Positive thoughts coming your way on Mindful Metropolis. Also, I would be willing to shell out a couple of dollars a month on your magazine if that is what it takes to keep what is a true necessity in my life. Rock on with your bad selves.
—Jim Colbert, Elmhurst, Ill.Jim, Thanks for the kind words. We also looked forward to reading Daniel’s column each month in C.C. He’s a bit out of our current budget, but we’ll definitely consider bringing him aboard.
—Ed.I was greatly saddened when Conscious Choice ceased publication with the April 2009 issue. My husband and I had been long-time readers and avid fans of the magazine. Over the last couple of decades, we had watched it grow from a large format journal to a more sleek, upscale, lifestyle glossy. Conscious Choice seemed to keep in step with our upward climb in status and social involvement. It kept us current and appealed to not only us, but to friends and peers on our level.
What saddens us most is that Mindful Metropolis is not the replacement for Conscious Choice we had hoped. It lacks the graphic appeal, suffers from less than top-notch layout, and lacks an overall visual quality that endeared us to that which we were accustomed.
We hope to see improvements in the future. We would hate to entirely lose what was once such a wonderful resource.
—Barbara Proust, ChicagoBarbara, Thanks for your letter. We cannot begin to tell you how much we value feedback from our audience. We take our readers’ opinions very seriously. Magazine design is an evolutionary process, and as it so happens, we are currently working with a seasoned graphic designer to create a more visually impactful magazine while incorporating a more professional look. You should notice what we believe is a giant leap forward beginning with this issue.
